  • Childhood Immunizations | NCCHS KS

Protect your child from serious diseases with recommended childhood vaccines. Learn about immunization schedules, what to expect, and how NCCHS makes vaccinations safe and accessible for all Nemaha County families.

  • Adult Immunizations | NCCHS KS

Stay protected at every stage of life with recommended adult vaccines. NCCHS offers accessible immunizations for adults in Nemaha County, including flu, shingles, Tdap, and more. Adult Immunizations Vaccines aren’t just for kids—adults need protection too. As we age, our immunity can fade, and we may become more vulnerable to serious diseases. Some vaccines are needed only once, while others require boosters over time to stay effective. Whether you're starting college, planning a pregnancy, traveling, managing a chronic condition, or simply aging into new recommendations, staying up to date on immunizations helps protect your health and the people around you. Common adult vaccines protect against diseases like tetanus, shingles, pneumonia, flu, COVID-19, and cancers caused by HPV. Some are recommended based on age, health conditions, lifestyle, or job-related risks. At NCCHS, we make it easy to know what you need and when. Our nurses can help you check your immunization status, answer your questions, and make a personalized plan to keep you protected at every stage of life. Call 785-284-2152 to schedule an appointment or talk to a nurse. It’s never too late to protect your health with the power of vaccines. Tetanus, Diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) The Tdap vaccine protects you from three serious diseases: tetanus, which can cause painful muscle stiffness from cuts or wounds; diphtheria, a throat infection that can block breathing; and pertussis (whooping cough), which causes severe coughing fits that can be dangerous for babies and others around you. Adults should get a Tdap booster every 10 years to stay protected. Learn More Pneumococcal (Pneumonia) This vaccine protects against pneumococcal bacteria that can cause pneumonia, bloodstream infections, and meningitis. It is especially recommended for adults 50 and older and for younger adults with certain health conditions to help prevent serious illness. Learn More Shingrix (Shingles) Recommended for adults age 50 and older, the shingles vaccine helps prevent shingles, a painful rash caused by the reactivation of the chickenpox virus. Shingles can lead to long-lasting nerve pain, so getting vaccinated reduces your risk of this uncomfortable and sometimes serious condition. Learn More Influenza The flu vaccine is recommended yearly for all adults to protect against seasonal flu viruses. The flu can cause high fever, body aches, and serious complications, especially in older adults or those with chronic health issues. Getting your annual flu shot helps keep you and those around you healthy during flu season. Learn More Hepatitis B This vaccine guards against a serious liver infection that spreads through blood and bodily fluids. It is recommended for adults at risk, such as healthcare workers, and for those who want to protect themselves from infection. Learn More RSV RSV is a common virus that can cause serious illness in older adults, especially those 60 and older or with chronic health conditions like asthma, heart disease, or diabetes. The RSV vaccine helps protect against lower respiratory infections, including bronchitis and pneumonia, which can lead to hospitalization. One dose is recommended for eligible adults, especially during RSV season, to reduce the risk of severe illness and complications. Learn More Human Papillomavirus The HPV vaccine protects against several types of human papillomavirus that can cause cancers of the cervix, throat, anus, and genitals. It is recommended for adults up to age 26 and for some adults aged 27 to 45 after discussing with their healthcare provider. Learn More COVID-19 The COVID-19 vaccine protects you from severe illness, hospitalization, and long-term symptoms caused by the coronavirus. It is important for adults to stay up to date with all recommended doses and boosters to maintain strong protection as the virus changes over time. Learn More
