From birth through the school years, our services are designed to help families access the care, resources, and guidance they need to raise healthy, thriving children.

Routine childhood vaccinations are one of the most effective ways to protect children from serious diseases. NCCHS provides all recommended immunizations according to CDC guidelines, including catch-up vaccinations. Our staff is available to answer questions, review vaccine records, and help families stay on schedule.
Immunizations
The WIC program provides nutrition support for pregnant women, new mothers, infants, and children up to age 5. Families, foster families, and guardians enrolled in WIC receive healthy food packages, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and referrals to other services. NCCHS is a local WIC provider and can help determine eligibility and provide ongoing support.
WIC
Wellness exams are an important part of monitoring a child’s growth, development, and overall health. NCCHS provides childhood wellness visits and Kan-Be-Healthy screenings for children enrolled in KanCare, which meet school and daycare physical requirements. These visits cover growth checks, developmental milestones, vision and hearing screenings, and preventive care.
Wellness Exams and Kan-Be-Healthy Exams
Through this free program, children under age 5 in Nemaha County can receive a new, age-appropriate book in the mail every month. NCCHS coordinates local enrollment and outreach to help build early literacy skills and encourage a lifelong love of reading—right from the start.
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library
Our certified child passenger safety technicians provide free car seat safety checks to ensure that seats are correctly installed and appropriate for your child’s age and size. We help families understand proper use, answer questions, and may assist with car seat replacement if needed. Safety appointments are available by request.
Car Seat Checks
In partnership with local school districts, NCCHS provides professional nursing support within schools. Our school nurses assist with daily health needs, manage chronic conditions, administer medications, respond to illnesses or injuries, and conduct health screenings to support student well-being and academic success.
