Nemaha County Community Health Services offers free home visiting services to new and expectant moms. Home visits are meetings with a home visitor in your own home or at a place and time that is convenient to you. They will provide you with information about local services and resources and provide materials that meet your individual needs. They will also bring you a bag brimming with baby essentials!
Our home visitors are there to offer support and encouragement, not judgement. They can answer your questions about pregnancy and parenting and help you prepare for a new baby.
What happens during a home visit?
Your baby will be weighed
Your home visitor will assist with any questions you may have about breastfeeding
You will be provided with information about local resources
You will be provided materials abut child development, parent-child interaction, safety, and discipline
Your home visitor will provide ideas for activities to help build your relationship with your child
You will have the opportunity to ask all your questions about pregnancy and parenting
