About Us
Public health in Nemaha County has a long-standing history of commitment and growth. Since 1979, when services began under the Nemaha County Home Health Agency, we have continuously expanded to meet the evolving health needs of our community. Over the years, additional staff and programs were added, supported by grants from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and strong partnerships with the Nemaha County Commission. In 1996, the skilled home care services merged with Sabetha Community Hospital, and on October 1, 1996, Nemaha County Community Health Services (NCCHS) was established to continue providing essential public health services in the county.

Our team is deeply rooted in the communities we serve. We are your neighbors—we shop locally, cheer on hometown teams, and send our children to nearby schools. Our staff includes parents, spouses, friends, and neighbors who all share a personal investment in the health and well-being of Nemaha County.

At NCCHS, we are dedicated to delivering quality, accessible public health services right here at home. We value your input and invite you to share your ideas and suggestions for services you would like to see offered. Together, we can continue to build a healthier community for all.
